Peter Harrison

Founder and Managing Partner, Peter was formerly Chief Investment Officer of PEAQ Capital Strategies. He is a veteran floor trader and an expert in quantitative trading systems with over 30 years of hedge fund and commodities trading experience. He was the first proprietary trader for hedge fund Tudor Investment Corporation and co-manager of the Tudor Select & Tudor Prime funds with Paul Tudor Jones and Luis Bacon. Peter has served on the Board of Trustees of Shore Country Day School as head of the endowment investment committee. He is a graduate of St. Mark’s and the University of Pennsylvania.

Julian Mulla

Chief Technology Officer of Apex Quantitative Group, Julian was formerly Chief Technical Officer of PEAQ Capital Strategies. He is a mathematician and developer with expertise in artificial Intelligence, machine learning, and trade automation. Julian has over 20 years of hedge fund experience. Prior to PEAQ, he was head of research and software development for Emil Van Essen. Julian was a Gold Medalist in the Albanian Math Olympics, and a Bronze Medalist in the Balkan Math Olympiad. Julian taught machine learning at the University of Chicago’s MBA program.

Rex Merchant, CFA, CPA, CAIA

Partner at Apex Quantitative Group, Rex has 13 years experience as a hedge fund CFO, most recently at JFL Capital Management where he managed investor accounting, cash flows, and SEC compliance. Prior to this he was CFO of Western Investment and Benchmark Plus. His background in investor reporting includes 15 years experience developing and supporting computer database applications. He began his finance career as a Valuation Analyst and Manager at Grant Thornton. Rex is a cum laude graduate of Philips Exeter Academy and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Stanford University.

Steve Peake

Chief Growth Officer for Apex Quantitative Group, Steve was formerly head of Business Development and Marketing for PEAQ Capital Strategies. Steve has more than 25 years of trading experience and was a member of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange Group from 1994 through 2021, where he served as Eurodollar futures Vice-Chairman for over 10 years.

Tom O’Connor, Esq.

Strategic Planning Advisor to Apex Quantitative Group, Tom is currently CEO of Catalyst Financial Partners and President, Chief Compliance Officer and one of the founders of Baystate Wealth Management. At Baystate Tom runs the day-to-day business while formulating and implementing short and long term strategies. Prior to this Tom was founder of registered investment advisory firm Marathon Capital. Before this Tom practiced law for nearly 20 years at Hale & Dorr (now Wilmer Hale) in Boston after graduation from St. Lawrence University and Law School.
